Our owner and president Matt Margeson’s humble beginnings date back to 1998 when he and his best friend John would grind well into the late afternoons and all weekends after school and football to build a thriving lawn care company. After high school and then college at Auburn University, he spent several years in various management roles but always felt the call to run and grow a successful landscape business. Matt’s passion for entrepreneurship and specifically the green industry that was evident then has grown to what is now a full service landscape maintenance company thriving in Auburn, Alabama.

A true family business, Legacy Landscape Group is owned by Matt and his wife Abby. They are active members of First Baptist Church of Opelika and enjoy raising their young family in the loveliest village on the plains. Matt is grateful for all of his wonderful clients and looks forward to growing this small business into something he can one day pass down to his children - leaving a “legacy” for the future.
